Geographically, Namwala district lies between latitudes 15 and 17 degrees South and longitudes 25 and 27 degrees East. It is a rural District that shares its boundaries with Monze (South-East), Choma (South), Kalomo (South), and Itezhi-tezhi (North-West). It is located 170 km North West of Choma District and 158km West of Monze.
